Singapore athletes are well rewarded!

Ever wondered how much Singapore athletes are rewarded with, each time they score a medal for Singapore in major games?


The Singapore National Olympic Council has an incentive plan to reward medal winners in the Olympic, Commonwealth, SEA and Asian Games. This incentive plan is termed the Multi-Million Dollar Award.

Here is their monetary rewards:

Which means to say athletes like Li Jiawei and Ronald Susilo are multi-millionaires? Considering all the gold medals they have won for Singapore!!!
Why didn't my parents groom me to be a sportsman when I was young? . . . . . .

How often do these event take place? And how big are you chance of getting first? Thinking of it, let's say, event take place like once every 2 years, you will earn that amount in 2 years, and what are your chances? What if you fail to get it in 10 consecutive years. YOU WILL DIE OF HUNGER!

Js, these athletes are paid a good basic salary too, in case you do not know, they won't starve.

And, its all the games. There are such games every now and then. SEA, Asian, Commonwealth, Olympics....

People like Ronald, Li Jiawei, Remy wins medals all the time...

serene: when has life ever been fair?

jslogy: me start at this age? I don't think anyone will want to try their luck on coaching me. But anyway I am taking up a new sport soon, and that is Tennis! Purely for leisure and health.
