The Singapore Flyer

The inside of the Singapore Flyer boarding area.
Although this was my second time, I was still very excited.

The huge capsule!

Can you spot Tanjong Rhu right behind me?

The Marina area

Tanjong Rhu again, my most coveted residential area.

Beautiful sparkling sea.

The world's largest floating platform converted into a football field!
Yes, its te same platform where National Day Parades were held.

The floating platform and the grandstand.

The Esplanade

Spectacular view of Marina

The Singapore River Taxi from afar.

The future Integrated Resorts - Singapore's very own casino!

The Flyer ticket, back and front.

The Singapore Flyer Amphi-theatre.

When you see this mini model of the Singapore Flyer visitor centre, it means your 30 mins is coming to an end.

We then proceeded to the Koi pond to wait for our tour leader.

Lunch was provided, and we dined at Happy Joy Restaurant at Bukit Merah.

Half of the restaurant was booked by us.
Heard a lot about this restaurant like it is frequented by politicians, aka ministers.
Finally get to try out the food here.

The wait was Loooooonnnnggg!

The whole group of us waited very long for our dishes to be served. I had initially intended to take pictures of the dishes to share with my readers, however, as I was eating with a bunch of strangers, except for Albert and Yenny, I decided to have some table etiquette, thus sorry, no pictures this time round.

I must say that the food was a huge disappointment. I really cannot remember the dishes anymore because they are so forgetable. I was telling them that I rather eat at a coffeeshop Tze Char because probably we get better quality food there.
Conclusion for Happy Joy Restaurant is: Below Average

Our next stop before proceeding back home was the Henderson Waves at The Southern Ridges.
Brief into of The Southern Ridges:
At 36 metres above Henderson Road, Henderson Waves (0.3KM) is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It was built to connect the two hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill. The bridge has a unique wave-form made up of seven undulating curved steel ribs that alternately rise over and under its deck. The curved ribs form alcoves that function as shelters with seats within. Slats of yellow balau wood, an all-weather timber found in South-East Asia, are used in the decking. Look out for carvings on the slats marking the height you are at on various points along the bridge. The wave-forms will be lit with attractive LED light from 7pm to 2am daily, giving the bridge an illuminative glow.
Since this is a community event, water is pro-Singapore. Water sponsored by Newater!

The Henderson Waves

Its located at Mount Faber Park, for those who are interested.

I must say its a really long bridge because you cannot see the end of the bridge!

I must say its pretty windy up there, although it was really scorching hot!

Any true-blue Singapore tourist attraction will have this sign.

See how long it is?
My recommendation is that one should come here at night because you will perspire to death here if you come in the day!

Interesting sign.

After I finished walking the length of the bridge, I quickly went down so I could take a pic of the exterior of the bridge.

Since its so long, it cannot be fully captured on still, so here is a short clip for you.

If you are not going up by car, you can take this stairs up to the Henderson Waves.

Helpful signs to show you the way.

Our bus arrived at this point, and we made our way back home, after a very educational and fulfilling trip, minus the lunch.

Thank you Punggol CC!

Eneres, you should go to the flyer! I have been there twice already! You can miss Henderson waves though unless you don't mind the heat, or you are going at night.
