Ayam Penyet Ria @ Lucky Plaza

Albert, Joanna and myself usually have our lunch within the vicinity of Raffles Place.

However, when one of us have a craving for Chicken Rice or Ayam Penyet, we would travel all the way down to Lucky Plaza at Orchard Road.

The Ayam Penyet at Ayam Penyet Ria, is really the best Ayam Penyet I have tried.

I cannot find any words to describe the food there, but one thing I can rave about is the Chilli. The chilli is damm nice, SEDAP!!!!! You have to try it to believe it!!!

You place and pay for your order at the counter first, then they will serve the food to you.

$27.40 for three of us, for a set of Ayam Penyet each, a bowl of Kerupuk (crackers) and a drink each, not too bad ah? I think $9 per person for a meal like this is well worth it!

This is the drink that Albert loves!! Its call Happy Soda, its really just Bandung and Soda lah, I don't really fancy this drink.

If you want to avoid the crowd, try not to dine here during lunch and dinner hours, if not try to be early. They are so popular that they used to only have one branch in Lucky Plaza itself, but now they have two. One on the first level, and one on the fourth level. They also have one branch at Tampines Mall and Jurong Point each. Four branches in total.

The Kerupuk here is great! Dip them into the Sambal, and its just heavenly!

This is the much talked about Ayam Penyet Ria Ayam Penyet.
One set comes with a Smashed Chicken (which is literally what Ayam Penyet means), some Kang Kong, a fried Tauhu (beancurb) and Tempe (beancake).

Go try it for yourself, and you will know exactly what I mean.
Remember, indulge in the Sambal Chilli, because its simply SHIOK!

Touched By An Angel MTV - Sezairi Sezali (With Full Lyrics)

Today, I finally saw the official MTV of "Touched By An Angel" by Sezairi Sezali on Channel 5. I immediately went onto the internet to source for it, because I badly want to share this beautiful song with the whole Singapore. I was personally very touched by the song and the meaningful lyrics, I hope you will be too.

When I first heard it on the Singapore Idol Finale, I thought it was a really nice song. For those who are still unaware, the song is composed by Ken Lim himself, one of the three Singapore Idol Judges. In fact all past Singapore Idol Winner songs were also composed by Ken.

Here is the MTV, please enjoy... Lyrics are below, and also on Youtube:

Touched By An Angel MTV- Sezairi Sezali (Full Lyrics)

My world had just gone by
Always darkened skies
There was no reason to try
Never could fly

Now I'm tired of searching
And wondering why
Its not really all that, much far
Reaching out for stars

Time to reach out
Time to be who I am
Who I am

Finally, I believe
My dreams will unfold
Its like being touched by an angel
A brand new beginning
Its amazing
This is, a moment, I will remember

Finally, I can feel
Heaven on earth
Its like being touched by an angel
My world is changing
I'm living out loud
Feels like, I've been, touched by an angel above

Oooo

By an angel
Ooooo

Living out loud
Feels like, I've been, touched by an angel above

Gina's Wedding Ceremony at Woodlands Community Club

Gina held her wedding ceremony at Woodlands Community Club. I was actually invited to both her ceremoney in JB and Singapore, but I have politely declined attendance for the JB one as it was a little too far for me.

When we arrived at 2pm, we saw the lobby of the community centre filled with dancers from her ceremony.

Gina booked the entire multi purpose hall for her wedding.

The hall was turned into a beautiful banquet hall.

Very grand stage

In all muslims wedding, there is always the buffet spread...

This is what I took for myself. Just some mutton and my favourite Chicken Merah.

At about 3 plus, the bride and the bride groom arrived.

The were accompanied by a lot of dancers and a very elaborated traditional ceremony. It was my first time attending a muslim wedding thus I was right in front.

Some traditional dancers riding on wooden horses, apparently these are symbolic of something.

Couple making their way to the entrance.

Of course the percussionists... they create the rhythm for the entire ceremony.

Going up the stage

All her friends and relatives snapping pictures away.

On stage, they continue they ritual.

Then the bride and groom sat on the "throne"

The fruits and kuey spread

Drinks section

I got this after I passed my red packet to her mother-in-law.

Inside the paper bag contains this butter cup cake.

They only had 2 kinds of beverages there. Coffee and Tea. Or this blue syrub. The kind that our schools used to sell for like 10cents per cup. (during my time)

The they Emcee invited me and my colleagues up for a phototaking with the bride and groom.

Bouquet of flowers on every table.

I really like the stage, its so beautiful...

And during the intermission when the couple were not around, they had this karaoke session where guests can go up and sing a song of their choice to entertain the other guests. Well, they obviously didn't have Lee Shengjie or Yoga Lin, so I didn't get to sing. LOL.

This lady sang pretty well.

When were were leaving, Irene arrived, however, we just accompanied her for an hour, and we left, the rest of us, namely Joanna, Yenny, Albert, KayLee and myself, then proceeded to Hooked on Steamboat at East Coast (Marine Cove) for a barbeque steamboat dinner.
