If they had to displose junk, they could spare a little more effort, and bring these junk down to the Disposal Centre!

Winkz Winkz - Buzzing Cashier 2

After watching Buzzing Cashier 2 on MobTV, I decided to visit this cafe which is located in Hougang Central Bus Interchange. The food critics and the chefs were raving about how good the food taste, but it was a HUGE disappointment!

Firstly, I visited the stall on a Sunday morning at around 11am, and it was still not opened. I looked around the exterior of the shop, and I could not find a single notice on its operating hours. FAILURE NUMBER 1: Not keeping the customers well informed.

When I re-visited the shop again at around 11.30am, it was finally opened. I saw the lady boss, who was featured in the program. She was busy preparing food. I was served by this rather young chap, probably her son or nephew. I asked about their operating hours. His reply was that on weekdays they open from 7am to 7pm. Thats fine. But when I asked about weekends, his reply was that they will come around "11 plus, no fixed timing on weekends".
FAILURE NUMBER 2: No fixed operating hours, open shop as and when they feel like it.

I decided not to be judgemental, and asked to buy their famous Filo pastry which was highly recommended on TV. I also wanted to try their famous Chicken Wings. To my disappointment, the food were ALL NOT READY, and I was told I had to wait 45mins, if I wanted those items.
FAILURE NUMBER 3: Poor time management. You don't ask customers to wait 45mins when there was no queue! If you open your shop at 11am, you jolly well get your food ready by 11am, thus, go to the shop EARLY to do your preparation!

I did not wait and left the shop disappointed.

I went back to the shop again in the afternoon, as I was dying to try the food.

This time round, I saw Chicken Wings on the display tray, and a lot of Filo pastries. I thought to myself, "Finally!"

A girl was mending the pastry counter, and I asked her which Filo Pastry was nicer, the mushroom or Tuna, and her answer was "Depends on your taste, I don't know, because I have not eaten before."

FAILIURE NUMBER 4: Staffs are not well informed of products. The least she could tell me was which was more popular among customers, and not tell me something an idiot will know, that is that the food depends on preference.

I bought both since she couldn't give me a satisfactory answer. I then also asked to buy 2 Chicken Wings, as there were 5 of them on the display tray. This time round, the counter girl told me the wings were sold out. I pointed to the tray, and she told me, someone else had bought it, but there was no one!

FAILURE NUMBER 5: Inadequate supply of food. Unless you are an extremely popular food outlet, like the Donut Factory 2 years ago, you should never tell your customers the food is sold out. You ensure there is always enough for anyone who walks in. Its only pardonable if its close to the end of the day.

I will NOT visit Winkz Winkz ever again, because after trying the Mushroom and Tuna Filo Pastry, I give it a D-. Both tasted really bad, at least not to my liking, and not worth all the hassle.

iPhone Alice In Wonderland Game

Does anyone here play "Alice in Wonderland" on iPhone?

I have been stucked at this stage for the longest time, and I cannot figure out how to pass this stage! ARGH! Its really frustrating!

Rama Thai Sharksfin Restaurant

Brought my dearest friend Irene to Rama Thai Sharksfin Restaurant for her birthday treat.

We went there full of anticipation for good food, but it turned out to be a disappointing visit.

Achar, pretty good, better than usual.

We ordered one sharksfin each, the price range from $19 to $59 per bowl.
I ordered the $49 per bowl one, as recommended by the Captain.

Turns out, the sharksfin isn't really that delicious.

Very "gelared" by the time you finish half a bowl.

I still prefer the sharksfin served in Chinese Restaurants....

Vermicelli with King Prawns - So so, forgetable.

Pork Ribs - Bad. The ones served in Tza Char stores, any Tze Char store in fact, are better.

Broccoli with Scallops. Well, you cannot go wrong with this dish since its just stir fried.

The bill came to about $150. Not worth it at all.

Would not recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Food not up to expectations, sharksfin's a HUGE disappointment!

Hokkien Prawn Mee at Hougang Mall

The Hokkien Prawn Mee at Hougang Mall used to be one of my highly recommended food in the Mall's Food Court, however, I changed my mind, after I tried it one Saturday.

That day, somehow the chefs were not wearing their signature straw hats, they were wearing caps instead.

This Hokkien Prawn Mee store is the same one which used to operate at Glutton's Square at Somerset, and they have a branch at Vivocity Banquet Food Court. They are famous for their chefs wearing the straw hats, as apparently, it was a passed-down tradition from the 1800s.

I used to always rave about this Noodles to my friends, and that day, when I was expecting a really fulfilling meal, I was disappointed.

Somehow, their standard has dropped drastically. They have either changed the chef, or the recipe for the base have changed, because the noodle was really bland. Worst of all, the noodles used to be "Q", but it was SOGGY, as you can see from the picture.

Hai, one more food stall striked off from my "To-Go-And-Eat" List.

Pizza Hut Delivery

After neglecting Pizza Hut for the longest time, I decided to give their food a try again one fine day.

As it was just for myself, I ordered the Drumlets (10 pieces), and a Personal Pan Pizza.

The Drumlets - this is my favourite, thus I reckoned 6 pieces wouldn't be enough for me, and ordered the 10 pieces instead.


This Personal Pan Pizza was disappointing. The crust was thick, the pizza was dry, I felt like I was eating stale pizza, that was left untouched for 2 days.


And where was my "Hot Dot"?
There was no dot for me to gauge whether my pizza arrived hot, as per Pizza Hut's Guarantee?!

I wonder is it because their delivery / preparation team couldn't be bothered, or my "Personal Pan Pizza" was too small for their to even care?

Disappointed, because they kept going on and on about this "niche" idea in their TV commercials, and they couldn't deliver.

New MSN Messenger Virus! BE CAREFUL!!! - "Diana's Revenge"

Most of you are familiar with the usual MSN virus, where your real friend, whose probably infected with virus, will "chat" with you, and tell you something very random like "Hey, you look stupid in our photos, check it out www.stupididiots.com"....

I usually ignore those.

This morning, when I logged on to my MSN, OMFG, someone added me (singhyu24@hotmail.com). I usually will just accept even though its not a familiar address or name.

After accepting her, I suspected its a virus, because she said she is the ex of a friend of mine, and wanted to show me SEX videos of themselves, and the reason why she is doing that, is because she wants to plant a revenge on him since he cheated on her.

Seriously, I know all my friends quite well la, so if a couple were to break up, I would know la, so good try.

The conversation looked auto-generated, so pls be careful if you encounter something similar!!!

Get rid of bed bugs!

Today is a sucky day!

Yesterday night at around 2am, I was woken up by severe itching.

I found out later that I had bed bugs on my bed!

I then surfed the internet for solution, and sad to say, the only solution was either to change the bed, or to get the specialist in. I chose the latter.

At 9am today, I called up a Pest Control company, and fortunately, the director was the one who served me, and he arranged for his guys to come today at 1pm. All other companies I called needed a 2-working day notice.

I thought such services are considered urgent, and should be almost immediate? Well, you don't want the bed bugs to spread and grow, do you?

If the service turns out good, and solve my itching problem, I shall recommend it here to all my friends and readers.

Till then, I got to do some work:
Wash my comforter, bed sheet, pillow cases.... ARGH!

Flowers belonging to charity stolen!

Was clearing the content in my Nokia E75 (preparing for the iPhone launch tomorrow), when I realised I have not uploaded these pics.

For those who have not read / heard the news from the papers, let me tell you what happened.

One charitable organization (pardon me, I forgot the name of the organization) decided to "plant" these beautiful yellow flowers all over the FAMOUS Raffles Place Grass Patch, supposedly to raise awareness for their charity campaign.

You make a donation of $5, and you get to either bring a stalk of one of these beautiful flowers home, or you can choose to plant it back onto the grass.


Most of us would just admire the beauty of these flowers, some would take pictures, but some ugly Singaporeans chose to "STEAL" or "CONVENIENTLY TAKE" these flowers at night (or even in broad daylight), because they cannot afford to donate $5 / are cheap skate / are ignorant / plain stupid!


The said charitable organization apparently reported the next day that they have lost $5000 in donations due to 1000 flowers being stolen overnight!

You see, this campaign was supposed to go on for a couple of days, so if I am the organizer, I would also choose to leave these flowers on the grass patch, because it doesn't make logical sense to "plant" and "unplant" hundreds of these flowers everyday.

But all the poor organizer got was $5000 losses in donations, having to lodge a police report, and to face media and public scrutiny. Some called the organizer "stupid" for leaving these flowers overnight.


I really pity the organizing committee for this campaign, because I believe they must have gotten a earful from their big bosses.


Why can't Singaporeans just leave things alone?

One guilty lady apparently brought a couple of flowers back the next day, after reading the article, and made donations on top of returning the flowers.

Well, at least she was brave enough to own up.

I hope not, because if you have, you should be VERY ASHAMED of yourself!

Soon Huat Pig's Organ Soup (Serangoon Gardens Food Centre)

After hearing so much about Soon Huat Pig's Organ Soup at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre, Irene and I decided to check the stall out.

When we reached Serangoon Gardens Food Centre, we saw a long snaking queue at one of the stalls.

After taking a closer look, we realised the queue was for the stall we were looking for:

While queuing, I saw this other stall nearby that also has a pretty constant flow of customers.
Its Serangoon Garden Bakery & Confectionery.

Yup, they sell traditional bread and cakes.

Their banana cake is SUPER DELICIOUS.

After waiting in the queue for almost 20 mins, it was finally my turn.

The auntie was very friendly and accomodating.

Paid $11 for the below.

EXPENSIVE!

Food was SO SO.

Both Irene and I didn't find the food nice at all.

The chilli for the Kuay Chap was sourish, not spicy at all.

The soup for the Pig's Organ Soup was average, nothing fantastic that renders such a long queue la. Porky Pig in Chinatown is MUCH BETTER.

Hai, what a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!

When we were almost done with the food, we looked across, yes, the queue was still very long!

Wonder why people queue for the food?

Its probably just herd mentality!

Ugly Singaporean!

Today, while going home on the NEL, I witnessed something which totally turned me off!

There was this young lady who wanted to give up her seat to an elderly Indian man who has boarded the train. The moment she stood up, another YOUNG LADY about 1 metre away DASHED OVER, and took the seat instead. The lady who gave up her seat didn't bother and looked away.

I had an urge to approach the UGLY SINGAPOREAN, but because I didn't want to spoil my mood, I just minded my own business.

What is this world turning to?

For me, I dare to say I will usually give up my seat to mostly 2 kinds of people, the elderly and pregnant ladies.

But then again, nowadays I don't have the luxury of sitting down anymore, because I am always commuting during peak hours!

Dishonest Employee

What if you found out that one of your employees have been cheating you for 10 months, what would you do?

She told you she has classes 5 days a week and leaves the office early everyday.
However, you found out 10 months later that she actually only attends classes twice a week.

Was surfing Youtube when I came across this super lame video to promote PCK, in the expense of Ris low, AGAIN!

Can you guys just give this poor girl a break?




IMHO, I feel PCK is losing its originality and humour, maybe they should just make this season their last?

Halloween 2

Caught Halloween 2 yesterday with my usual movie kakis, this time is 8 of us.

I regretted watching the movie, the moment it started.

Its damm gross, from the beginning to the end. The way the psyschopatic killer goes around killing innocent victims, slashing them to pieces, sawing their heads off, etc....

His killing is vicious to the max.

I find the plot unappealing, you must love violence, to love this movie, and I give this movie a Thumbs Down!

iPhone

Today, I personally witnessed another benefit of having an iPhone.

Cheating in exams!

Goodness.

NOT ME DEFINITELY!!!

There was this guy in front of me blatantly scrolling his iPhone away for answers to the exam questions. He was literally letting his fingers do the work, and not his brains!

I was so grossed out at his behaviour...

Here I was studying hard to memorise for my exams, there he was copying away.

Life is unfair! FUCK!

PS: I do not hold an iPhone myself.

Gamer - Who's Playing You

OMG, its such a boring and directionless movie!

Lousy!

I think this movie will only appeal to people who play role playing games such as Counter Strike.

Comfort Delgro Driving Centre (Ubi)

Today I wasted my time, travelling all the way to Comfort Delgro Driving Centre at Ubi, to find out that my e-Trial test, was not booked!

What the fuck!

I was so looking forward to today, to see how far I have come, but ...

Anyway the system is cocked up la.

I remember checking twice before today, and both times it was stated clearly on my account that the e-trial was booked, and today they cannot find the record!

Thursday is my Advance Theory Test.
